frequently asked questions

Each treatment involves a series of hydrating micro-injections of long lasting stabilised hyaluronic acid gel to deliver immediate and lasting hydration and plumpness to the skin. This hyaluronic acid is soft and absorbs water and brings deep skin hydration to the treated areas, giving it improved firmness, elasticity and smoothness. This manifests outwardly as a wonderful, healthy radiance. The micro injuries created also stimulate collagen formation through the natural skin repair process thus lifting scars further.

Following a consultation, your skin is cleansed.  Please try and arrive to your appointments without make-up. A very fine needle is used to deliver treatment to both sides of your face.

This is a no downtime for this procedure, however you may have small bumps and redness at the injection site for about an hour after the procedure. Like with most injectable treatments, no exercise, sauna, steam room is recommended for 24 hours. Alcohol should also be avoided for 24 hours before and after the procedure. You may experience mild swelling and mild bruising in the area which may last a few days. This can be covered with make up after 12 hours.

It’s unlikely that this is the wrong choice for anyone, imagine applying your most hydrating moisturiser from the inside.  It is very well suited to clients who are noticing their skin feels a bit dull, dehydrated and has mild to moderate laxity.  It can also be used as an adjunct to other treatments like polynucleotides and dermal fillers.

Polynucleotides

Newer technology like Polynucleotides, represent cutting-edge advancements in regenerative medicine, functioning at a cellular level to enhance tissue repair and improve skin texture. These procedures effectively improve the skin’s elasticity, firmness, and radiance, resulting in a noticeable glow.  Polynucleotides also possess potent antioxidant properties, effectively reducing inflammation and restoring youthful volume and hydration to the skin.

The applications of Polynucleotides are vast, with key uses including holistic skin revitalisation to combat aging signs, preparation and post-procedure recovery for both medical and aesthetic surgeries, addressing concerns such as acne, atrophic scarring, rosacea, elastosis, alopecia/hair loss, hyperpigmentation, stretch marks, and addressing deep lines and wrinkles. Polynucleotides offer rehydration for dull skin at any age, making them an incredibly versatile solution for various skin concerns.

frequently asked questions

Polynucleotides represent naturally occurring DNA molecules of high purity, typically sourced from the gonads of fish.

The DNA utilised in polynucleotide treatments originates from salmon or trout. Surprisingly, this DNA bears significant similarity to human DNA. However, it’s essential to clarify that only fractions of DNA are utilised. Following a specialized clinical filtration and ultra-purification process, no tangible matter remains. Moreover, individuals with fish allergies can safely use polynucleotides, as clinical trials have reported no allergic reactions thus far. It’s worth noting that the salmon are not harmed or killed to obtain their DNA for these treatments.

Within cells, DNA comprises polynucleotides. By introducing additional polynucleotides into aged or damaged skin cells, they facilitate tissue regeneration by stimulating fibroblasts – a cell type crucial for connective tissue formation. Essentially, this process entails healing the skin from within.

If you desire natural results of glowing skin and would like to help regenerate your own cells to work for you to produce more collagen and elastin and healthier skin cells.

Similar to other skin booster treatments, delivery is by several small injection sites or by cannula.

Multiple clinical studies evaluating the efficacy of the polynucleotides have demonstrated remarkable outcomes.

Side effects are minimal and contingent on the injection technique employed. Similar to any injection, patients may experience slight redness and swelling post-treatment. No serious adverse events have been reported.

Certainly. Our polynucleotides can be utilised as standalone therapies or combined with other procedures.

Polynucleotide treatments are suitable for individuals of any age and can be administered at any time of the year. While even a single syringe of polynucleotides can offer benefits, it is recommended to undergo a course of at least three treatments, with each session spaced three weeks apart.

The first signs of improvement often begin around 7-10 days after your first treatment, with the full effects visible at around 3 weeks. This is when we recommend your second, and subsequent treatments to take place. By doing so, we maintain continued, active stimulation of fibroblast production, maximising short and long-term results.

Polynucleotides function differently from hyaluronic-based skin boosters and dermal fillers. Instead of providing an immediate boost in collagen and elastin or temporarily “plumping” the skin with fillers, polynucleotides act as catalysts for the regeneration of fibroblasts, the primary cells within the skin’s structure responsible for collagen production. After activating new cell production, the body absorbs the product quickly, but the effects of polynucleotides can last. Despite ongoing aging, treated areas undergo a reversal of the aging process.

After undergoing polynucleotide treatment, you may notice small blebs on your skin, indicating where the product has been deposited. These may be faintly visible and will typically fade within a few hours, although in some cases, it may take longer.

Following the treatment, it is recommended to adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Refrain from undergoing any other facial treatments for 72 hours.
  • Avoid touching or washing your face for at least 4 hours.
  • Abstain from applying makeup for a period of 12 hours.

Following these instructions will help ensure optimal results and minimize any potential adverse reactions.
